Politically-minded post-punk experimentalists Regressive Left are following their promising early singles with yet another innovative track. Taking a dancier approach than their aforementioned pieces, 'Cream Militia' stems from a chugging electronic bass line that feels inspired by Kraftwerk and Delia Derbyshire's Doctor Who theme tune in equal measure. Using heavily effected guitars to add a more organic feel, the potent lyrics are tastefully placed and emphasised by drummer Georgia Hardy's airy backing vocals, that lift the mix in all the right spots. With some decent festival slots and a headline show at the lauded Brixton Windmill confirmed for the 1st of October, Regressive Left are shaping up to be an exciting live (yes, live!) prospect. -Holly Mullineaux
